The thing about weddings is there’s no right or wrong way to do them, the only thing you need to worry about getting right is loving your spouse. When your love is strong enough, you can face anything together: even wedding planning. And if there is anyone who can prove this sentiment, it’s Anita and Mark.
Their Story
Anita and Mark met in 2013 when Mark was recovering from stage 3b colon cancer. He had lived cancer-free for a year until a check-up revealed that cancer had spread to his lungs. Despite it all, the couple found support and strength in each other and married on July 10, 2016. In a true Brady Bunch fashion, Anita and Mark’s marriage brought them together into a loving, blended family of seven.
The Wedding
A Wish to Wed played a supporting role for Anita and Mark’s nuptials and joined in on the wedding planning fun later in the process, a special situation for a remarkably special couple. Although the couple did most of the wedding planning themselves, we helped with a bit of magic of our own: we reimbursed their marriage certificate and helped connect the couple with a handful of vendors eager to volunteer their services.
On their wedding day, Kristen from Young Hip and Married officiated their ceremony, and the day of coordinator, Rebecca from Filosophi, helped keep their wedding plans running smoothly. Calligrapher, Hello Maurelle, crafted a seating chart to match the bright and sunny wedding colors, Dang Good Booths kept the laughter ringing all day with a photo booth and props, and Capture Productions filmed the wedding to keep the magic forever (check it out here!) One additional thank you to Daniella Ciuffa, the photographer, who offered her services before we got involved. Her talent for capturing magical moments is apparent in all of Anita and Mark’s wedding photos you see here.
Stronger Together
Both sunshine and smiles shone throughout the day at Anita and Mark’s wedding, a true sign of the lasting strength of their marriage. Their good humor and teamwork lingered in every detail, showing that they can face anything together as strength and support are the foundation of Anita and Mark’s relationship. A Wish to Wed is so happy to have helped celebrate the couple’s lasting love!
