Get hands on DIY inspiration with The DIY Wedding Show

On February 24th, 2018 at 100 Braid Street Studios in New Westminster, the first ever DIY Wedding Show in the Lower Mainland will be happening and A Wish To Wed society will be receiving a portion of the proceeds and will be collecting donations. Couples who are seeking an awesome DIY wedding will have the opportunity to gather some phenomenal resources from this inaugural show.

While creating the concept of the show, wedding planners from ThistleBEA your wedding, Breanne Dodge and Winnie Chick, knew they wanted to do things a little differently, so instead of offering all the traditional vendors, the DIY Wedding Show sourced their vendors from a series of different categories. If you attend, you can find yourself wedding vendors who specialize in DIY and affordable weddings, companies who host workshops to help you figure out your DIY projects, and artisans who can offer you an unique option for your wedding.

Another cool feature of the DIY Wedding Show is their Demo Stage. Instead of having models parade around in dresses that you may never wear or hope to afford, they are putting their workshops on display. All the vendors who offer workshops (and some who just want to give you fun DIY inspiration) will be on stage throughout the day, guiding you through options for your DIY Wedding.

They will also be collecting donations for A Wish to Wed through their coat check and their Wedding Wishing Wall. This is another new concept the DIY Wedding Show is bringing to life. Instead of entering to win every prize just for the free stuff, the DIY Wedding Show wanted you to think about the right prizes for your wedding plans. To win any of the brilliant prizes offered by the DIY Wedding Show vendors, you need to tell them why you want to win the prize. The vendors will pick their favourite story as the winner! Hot tip: if you want to win, ask the vendor who is giving away the prize what kind of couple is likely to win!

A suggested donation for the coat check is  $2 and $1 for the Wedding Wishing Wall.

Tickets to attend the first DIY Wedding Show are only $5 and can be found on the DIY Wedding Show’s website.
